Evie

This past weekend we got to watch our niece, Evie. I had a blast! It was so fun to have a girl around. I got to do her hair, and we watched Princess movies while Tyler was sleeping. Here's a little of what we did:

Playing the piano
Coloring
Chocolate Milk and Snuggles
Jumping in the Leaves

Picking carrots from the garden

And, of course, the horses. Evie LOVES horses.

It was a good test for how we'd handle three kids. It's good to know that, when the time comes, we'll be able to handle it just fine.

Trick-or-Treat

I love when Halloween is on a Saturday. I actually have time to do everything I want to do. I miss living in Vegas where we'd always get Halloween off because it was Nevada Day.

This year we actually carved pumpkins,
which we haven't done in a few years.

We invited our friends the Morley's over for dinner,
complete with homemade rootbeer in a pumpkin.

Tyler was a ghost. He wouldn't wear his costume for long, so this was the best picture I could get. He shed it about ten minutes into Trick-or-Treating and asked for his coat instead.

Brock was Harry Potter. He found his wand (it's a stick)
when we went camping, and saved it for months.
He said a new spell from the book with every pose.
"Expelliarmus!"
"Expecto Patronum!"

Brock, Adam, and Nate, waiting for the toddlers to get dressed.

Tyler and Ella (or for tonight "Cinder-Ella")

This is Tyler's favorite song. Only the encouragement of "Sing it for Grandma!" would get him to sing it on camera. Of course, he hid behind his cracker the whole time, but I'll take what I can get!

Translation:
Boo! Boo! Boo! Boo!
I'm a ghost to scare you!
From Halloween town
I've come this night,
All dressed from head
to toe in white!
BOOOooooooo!
BOOOOooooo!
BOOO!

It's Great to be Eight!

Well, none of us can believe it, but Brock is now eight. This is a big birthday for him, so we decided to go all out. We took him to Trafalga in Provo the weekend before for some miniature golfing and pizza. Then on his birthday we went out to Wingers for dinner and then came home to open presents. We were so full from the dinner and free Asphalt Pie at Wingers, that we sang and blew out the candles on his cake, but didn't even cut into it until the next evening. We tried to center all of our gifts around being eight. Here are a few shots:

Scout Uniform

Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites Series

His own scriptures (He was the most excited about these)

And, thankfully, the Grandparents supplied him with the toys.
He's in major Lego mode, so thanks Grandparents.

The next week was Brock's first official Den Meeting. He looks so cute in his Cub Scout Uniform! Oh - I mean "handsome", I'm not allowed to say 'cute' anymore.

Then, of course, came the biggest day of all. On October 10th, Brock was baptized and confirmed by his Dad. It was such a fun day, and we appreciate all those who came to support us, and we missed the ones that weren't able to be there.

Now for his birthday party with his friends this weekend. It's been a fun few weeks!

Gymnastics

Here are some pictures of Tyler's first day of gymnastics. He loves getting to run around and do somersaults, but most of all, he loves to swing on the uneven bars. He's not afraid of anything, except for sometimes the teachers. But that's Tyler for you. No fear - other than people, of course.

Rainbows

My boys came running into the house one evening to tell me about this:

It was, hands down, the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen. And it was a double rainbow. The pictures don't even do it justice. You could see every individual color.

First Days of School

Well, life has been crazy ever since school started, so I haven't had much time to blog. Here's pictures of the boys' first days of school. Brock is now in 2nd grade, and Tyler is doing a preschool/playgroup twice a week. Tyler loves to wear his backpack and go to school just like his brother. His only disappointment was that he doesn't get to ride the bus.

A New Author

My friend from high school is about to have her first book published! So cool! I'm really excited for her, and best of all, it looks really good. Knowing Lindsey, it's probably really funny, too. I'm spreading the word. It's called "Princess for Hire" and is being released in March 2010. It's the first in a series. Check out her website here. Congrats Lindsey!
